Acting From Image (AFI)
Acting
From Image is a monologue based class that stresses the
incorporation of your natural behaviors as well as your essences into
any piece of material. You will learn to use your essences to create
characters that are uniquely you. Your acting will feel "unacted,"
spontaneous and enriched by your own life experience. This class is for
the actor who is looking to personalize performance and to bring their
acting into a seemless balance of craft and personal identity. Ideal
for the trained Film and TV actor looking to meet the demands that the
scrutiny of the camera brings. Ideal for the beginning professional who
is looking for an organic way to be completely themselves in auditions,
meetings and performance.
Perhaps this class can best be summed up by the words of Sir Laurence
Olivier:
"Arresting performance by an actor is not a matter of style or rehearsal, but of self-knowledge and an inescapable desire for complete personal exposure. Myth Workshop
"Sam served up my core myth as if it was fine dining for my soul."

The Myth Workshop is designed to give you a personal experience of your myth as it has developed in your life. The work will deepen your understanding of your mythic assignment and will document your relationship to it through your past experiences and current preferences. It assures that you do not get too intellectual about your myth especially as you look for it in stories, scripts, roles, etc. It's done a single day and in an atmosphere unlike a classic classroom, making it fun as well as profound for the participants.

Archetyper Workshop
The purpose of Archetyper is to allow you to recognize how renowned acting artists, current and past, have used similar essences and mythic designations to manifest successful careers and audience identification. We'll use internet resources and on-line demonstration to show you how to identify relationships with actors you may or many not know. We'll introduce you to the work of artists you might not suspect as those in whose footsteps you can follow. The goal is to help you assemble a creative family that can offer you guidance, example and a sense of belonging. You will gain a career driving energy to augment your own ambition. By adding these "mentors on film" and viewing their accomplishments you will fuel your own progress and determination. It's high-tech, alot of fun and offers some great Ah-Ha moments. Plus the ongoing homework is watching movies--- you can't beat that!
This workshop is actually based on work that Sam has previously done only privately. But now we designed this program to offer a quicker, more comprehensive (and cheaper) way to solidify your use of essence, myth and physical type.
